We accept or reject applications on two things: the standard of your profile, and whether you’ve given us correct, clear information. This article covers what we look for in each.
The standard of your profile
During the application you’ll build your student-facing profile. The most important sections are:
- Profile picture: a professional-quality photo where you look smart and friendly. It’s the first thing students see. We’ll get in touch if there’s an issue with it.
- Bio: your space to cover your tutoring experience, how you’ll help, how you run lessons, and any expertise with specific curriculums or exam boards. Include plenty of detail, or we may ask you to add more before we can review further.
- Subjects and qualifications: choose subjects you have experience tutoring, backed by the qualifications on your profile. Students respond best to specialists, so list only two subject groupings (for example Maths, English, Sciences, Languages, Humanities). If you teach at degree level, limit this to the specific area of your undergraduate or postgraduate degree.
Correct and clear information
We verify your ID as part of the review, so provide a clear, colour copy of your photo ID and proof of address where needed. Review which documents we accept before applying. Unclear copies or unaccepted document types delay your application, as we must verify your ID before we can fully review it.
