Tutorful Platform Guidelines

Modified on Fri, 24 Jul at 1:48 PM

These guidelines cover how to get the most from the platform and stay within our policies.

Keep bookings, messaging, and lessons on Tutorful

  • Make lesson bookings on Tutorful. Booking outside the platform causes confusion and makes it harder for us to support you. Failure to follow our booking policy may result in account suspension.
  • Keep messaging on Tutorful. Our messaging system is safe and secure, keeps your communication in one place, and lets us support you if issues arise.
  • Use Tutorful’s online classroom. It’s built for teaching, with a whiteboard, screen sharing, and more, and students can rewatch lesson recordings for revision.

Cancellations

Our cancellation policy protects both tutors and students.

  • If the student cancels more than 24 hours before the lesson, or you cancel as the tutor, the student isn’t charged, and no Lesson Credit is deducted.
  • If the student cancels less than 24 hours before, the standard charge of 50% or 100% of the lesson cost applies (depending on whether you enforce a cancellation fee), charged directly to the student.

Payments and support

  • Automatic payment processing: Tutorful uses Stripe to handle payments automatically and securely, so you don’t chase payments or manage finances manually.
  • Dedicated Engagement Team: for any issues, from technical problems to profile improvement to disputes, our Engagement Team can help.
