Why wasn't I able to sign-up as a tutor?

If your application was unsuccessful, it’s because you weren’t able to confirm all the statements we ask you to agree to at sign-up. Here’s why each one matters.

I am 18 or older, live in, and have the right to work as self-employed in the UK

• You must be 18 or older because of the nature of the work with children.
• You must live in the UK, as we only operate in the UK under UK law and need a UK mobile number and bank account.
• You must be legally entitled to work as self-employed, as our tutors are self-employed.

I do not already have a tutor account with Tutorful

We allow one account per tutor so you don’t lose previous hours taught or reviews. If you already have an account, log in and update it. For issues, email support@tutorful.co.uk.

I have at least two years of tutoring or teaching experience

We ask for at least two years’ experience before you start, as you’ll get students preparing for important exams or deadlines. If you don’t have it yet, you could tutor friends, family, or through an educational organisation, then apply again once you meet the criteria.

I am willing to and have the equipment to teach online

We require all tutors to offer online lessons through our built-in classroom, so students across the UK can access great tutors without distance constraints, and you don’t have to travel. If you’re worried about teaching online, contact our team.

I agree to the Terms and Conditions and to book and accept payment for all lessons through the website

You must agree to our Terms and Conditions to tutor with us. We handle all lesson payments through the website, paid directly into your bank account, so you must be happy to receive payment this way.
