You can cancel a lesson at any time prior to a lesson starting, though you should give your student as much notice as possible. To cancel a session, log in to your Tutorful account and go to your "Lessons" tab. Click on the 'lesson details' button next to the lesson in question and then click on 'Cancel Booking':

You will be taken to the lesson cancellation page. If you have repeat lessons, you can either cancel just one lesson or all of the remaining lessons in this series of repeat lessons.

Next, select the reason for cancelling the lesson from the dropdown list. When selecting a reason related to scheduling, you’ll be provided with a link to reschedule the lesson. Where possible, we recommend that you reschedule lessons rather than cancelling as this is a more efficient way to move the lesson.

You can also cancel any lesson from our app! To do so, just click on the lesson and then select 'Cancel lesson' at the bottom. From there, you'll be asked to select a reason for cancelling.

Please note: should a student notify you during your in-person lesson that they will not be able to attend your next session, you will need to cancel the lesson booking on site as well as not turning up to the proposed location of the lesson. Should you fail to cancel the lesson, the student will automatically be charged so it is important that you action the cancellation as soon as possible or request that the student does so via their account. We would recommend keeping an email or message trail of this via the platform messaging site as should either party fail to cancel the lesson and neither take responsibility for this, we may not be able to ensure a full payment is made to the tutor or a refund is made to the student.

If you'd like to enforce a cancellation fee for a lesson cancelled within 24 hours by your student, you are able to do so from your account. All you'll need to do is go to the lesson in question, and select the cancel booking option. You'll then be asked to select the reason - if you choose one that is student led, you'll then see the option to enforce a 0, 50 or 100% cancellation fee (if you are cancelling within 24 hours), and you can choose how much to charge.

However, we would ask that you only enforce a fee if it is the student who needs to cancel, rather than yourself as the tutor.
