No. All online lessons on Tutorful are recorded, and recordings can’t be switched off. This is a standard part of teaching on the platform and is set out in our Terms and Conditions. Recordings serve two purposes: a revision tool for students, and a safeguarding measure that keeps everyone safe in the online classroom.
Who can access recordings
- The student of the lesson, via their logged-in Tutorful account.
- Where applicable, the student’s parent or guardian.
- Tutors cannot access recordings. As many students are under 18, this is an important safeguarding measure.
Can recordings be downloaded or shared?
No. Recordings can only be viewed within the Tutorful website. They can’t be downloaded, so they stay secure and can’t be shared outside Tutorful.
Does Tutorful watch recordings?
Only if there’s a specific reason, such as a quality or safeguarding concern being raised. We never use recordings without consent.
