Yes. All payments are processed through Stripe, a global payment provider. When you enter your details, not even we at Tutorful can view them. Thousands of lessons run through Tutorful every week, and we’ve never had a payment security issue with Stripe.
Why we take your card details
We take a set of card details to confirm a lesson booking, so your tutor is guaranteed payment for their time. You’ll authenticate the payment with a code from your bank. Without entered and authenticated card details, no lessons can be booked on your account. We only ever take payment 24 hours after a lesson has taken place.
One card at a time
We store one set of card details at a time. If you add a new card, the old one is automatically overwritten. You’ll authenticate the new details for security.
