What does going "Offline" mean?

Modified on Fri, 24 Jul at 1:51 PM

Going offline hides your profile from search results, so no new students can contact you. You can still interact with current students, book lessons, and take payment while offline. You can go back online at any time.

When to go offline

Keep your profile reflective of your real availability. Go offline if you’re:

  • On holiday and can’t respond quickly for a short period.
  • Taking a break from tutoring.
  • Full and can’t take on more students.

How to go offline

  1. Log into your account and go to your dashboard.
  2. Click the button on the right-hand side to set your profile offline.

How to go live again

  1. Log into your account and go to your dashboard.
  2. Click the green button on the right-hand side.

You can also toggle between Live and Offline from your dashboard on the mobile app.

Why your profile might go offline automatically

To give students a reliable booking experience, we monitor tutor performance and may set a profile to offline if patterns suggest you’re not available for new students. For example:

  • You repeatedly don’t respond to student messages.
  • You reject or cancel bookings due to unavailability, even though those times showed as available on your Availability Calendar or New Student Time Slots.

If this happens, we’ll email you the reason. It isn’t permanent: after a short cooling-off period you can set your profile back to Live. First, make sure your availability is up to date and you can accept bookings for the times you’ve marked as free.
