For Students & Parents - What is your cancellation policy?

You can cancel or reschedule a lesson for free up to 24 hours before it starts. Within 24 hours, a charge can apply. A lesson is only officially cancelled once it’s cancelled on the system.

The charges

• More than 24 hours before: no charge.
• Less than 24 hours before: a charge of 0%, 50% or 100% of the lesson cost, at your tutor’s discretion.

Late Cancellation Handling Fee

If a lesson is cancelled within 6 hours of the start and your tutor waives the fee or charges 50%, you’re charged a £5 Late Cancellation Handling Fee. If the tutor charges 100%, the £5 fee doesn’t apply, so you’ll never pay more than the lesson cost for cancelling.

Example: cancel a £20 lesson 6 hours before, and if the tutor charges 50%, you pay £10 plus the £5 fee. If they waive the fee, you pay only the £5 fee.

When you won’t be charged

• If your tutor cancels for a reason outside your control, such as illness, you won’t be charged.

No-shows

Bookings can’t be cancelled after the lesson has started. A lesson you don’t cancel before the start and don’t attend is charged at full price. In extenuating circumstances, a full refund may be appropriate at the discretion of the tutor and Tutorful.
