What Is Lesson Credit?

Lesson Credit is a reward provided to students to say thanks for things like referring their friends to us or receiving credit for a lesson through our Satisfaction Guarantee, or through Tutorful marketing promotions, and is used towards the cost of their future lessons.

When Is Lesson Credit Used?

Lesson Credit will automatically be deducted from the very next lesson a student pays for, up to a maximum of the cost of their lesson. If the student’s available Lesson Credit is less than the cost of their lesson, we will then charge them the difference 24 hours after the lesson as normal, using the payment details on their account.

What Will I Be Paid?

As a tutor, if a student uses their credit to pay for one of your lessons together, you will still be paid as usual. We will never deduct Lesson Credit from the payment you receive.

What If My Student Cancels The Lesson?

If your student cancels their lesson more than 24 hours before the lesson is due to start, or if you cancel the lesson as a tutor, your student will not be charged and no Lesson Credit will be deducted from their balance.

If your student cancels their lesson less than 24 hours before the lesson is due to start, the standard charge of 50% or 100% of the lesson cost will still be due (depending on if you choose to enforce a cancellation fee for the session), and will be charged directly to your student.

Can I Give Out Credit To My Students?

At this point in time, students can only receive Lesson Credit directly from Tutorful. As a tutor you are not able to provide credit to your students.

If providing your students credit is a feature that you feel you’d benefit from as a tutor, please let us know.
