As a tutor with Tutorful, you are in charge of managing your own business. We may offer suggestions and guidelines, but the decision rests with you regarding what you want your hourly rate to be.
You can change your hourly rate at any time by heading to the 'More' menu in the Tutorful app. From here, click ‘Settings’, and then ‘Hourly Rate' and then Hourly Rate.
Once you've clicked Hourly Rate, you'll be able to enter your prices. Bear in mind that your hourly rate combined with our service fee will be the total lesson price that your students will pay.
To edit your rate using our desktop site, head to profile and select ‘rate’. This will open a form where you can set your hourly rate:
When you think about changing your hourly rate, we do recommend that you honour your previous hourly rate with your current students, as they would have contacted you with this in mind and may not be willing to pay your new rate for lessons. You can change the rate you charge for lessons by manually inputting this on the booking form.
If you'd like to change your rate for a single student without changing the rate on your profile (to add an additional charge for multiple students, to offer a discount to a specific student if necessary or to honour a previous hourly rate for an existing student for example) then you can do this on the booking form.
When you book a lesson, just tap Hourly Rate to change the price for that specific lesson:
If you leave the box unfilled then the lesson will be automatically charged at the hourly rate on your profile. If you would like to charge a different hourly rate, then you can simply write the rate in the box and the lesson cost will be calculated from this depending on the duration of the lesson.
You can do the same on the desktop website, simply fill in the Hourly rate box when you book a lesson with a different price for that lesson.
